Tribe Mediterranean Foods has been producing and selling hummus and other Mediterranean food products since April, 1994, in the United States and beyond. The products are produced in a company owned and operated “state of the art” 60,000 sq. foot refrigerated hummus production facility located in Taunton, Massachusetts, about 40 miles south of Boston.
From our inception until the fall of 2006, Tribe Hummus was produced and sold under the trademark “Tribe Of Two Sheiks.” Tribe was the first hummus to add exciting ingredients such as Roasted Garlic, Roasted Red Peppers, and Cracked Chili which helped to take the

In the fall of 2006, Tribe Hummus was reformulated (in conjunction with consumer trends) to become “all natural.” This reformulation removed artificial preservatives from the hummus! At the same time, we implemented a state of the art pasteurization process (a similar process that milk undergoes). The result is the freshest tasting, healthiest hummus on the market!
In conjunction with the reformulation, the packaging was updated to reflect the new, upgraded “all natural” product inside the cup. Many consumers had trouble identifying the hummus flavor inside the old packaging. We took a significant step to correct that creating illustrations on the labels of the vegetables/herbs in the hummus.
