Production Manager
Summary
The Production Manager is an integral member of the Operations Team. The Production Manager will oversee the daily production and packaging of perishable food, be accountable for the production schedule, hiring, training, development, evaluation, discipline and general supervision of staff to create a proficient and strong leadership team that is capable of achieving a high-performance work culture. This is a hands-on position involving supervision of a large, diverse work force in a shift environment.
Responsibilities:
- Direction and oversight of all activities, personnel, and resources in production and processing areas to meet business demands of the organization.
- Lending leadership and direction in processing production, and coordination with sanitation, warehouse, logistics, and maintenance in support of plant initiatives.
- Providing manufacturing expertise, leadership and counsel to production and processing in an on-going effort to enhance overall plant performance through strong management, professional development and effective communication with staff and senior management.
- Championing safety and quality assurance including HACCP, Third Party Regulatory, SSOPs and GMP initiatives that emphasize core business values.
Qualifications:
- Broad background in branded food production
- Progressive experience in management of fast moving food perishables
- Experience with processing and preparation to specification and recipes
- Knowledge and experience with food safety
- Experience with packaging for distribution into multiple channels
- 7-10 years experience in food processing and/or third party food regulatory/third party auditing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record of team member training and development
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business or related field
